Monday 04, Full cloud cover this morning, very high cirrus, so keeps the morning reasonably cool. Game, not that much about, a couple of hyena, a adult and sub adult,
just passed the brakespruit passing area and then another dashes across the road, just on our cut line, large herds of impala, on warthog, around hide, more near sand and plenty around big and double, also at double a herd of 7 zebra and a giraffe, another giraffe
near nkhonkoni. We notice the pair of gypo geese on hide with there 4 baby goslings , carefully keeping the young between them as they boat across the dam, keeping a watch on them from a tree on the island a fish eagle.
Wednesday 06, No drive today, good rains though, 20 at ORGR and HWE wonderful.
Friday 08, Another full overcast morning to start the day, seems the norm at the moment, can’t remember when last we had a absolutely cloudless morning to start the day. The usual car swop and then we head off towards ian’s pan, at the bottom of the airstrip a large herd of impala, cross at mike’s link and then onto hyena way and right along molope dr. we haven’t gone to far past the link road, when we come on a couple of lion walking along the road, they then cross the palm, and set off towards the single pylons,
so we back track and now take the link road and pick them up once more as they cross under the single pylons, and the line of march is in a straight line towards sable dam, a large herd of impala on sable plains carefully watch them go by, we cross the palm and follow them once more on molope dr. Brian and Claire (56) join us and eventually we lose them, in the area between sable and rhino and the four pylons, can’t see them but every now and then, they call and are answered from some distance in klaserie. For the rest of our drive, large herds of impala on buff plains 3, more along kudu loop and around hide loop and dam. We end our morning drive with a delicious and very enjoyable breakfast with Brian & Claire at the Cesare’s. Eventually make home by 12, 45, great morning.
Saturday 09, The usual overcast morning, a pretty slow morning, bump into a couple of hyena on the way in, then large herd of impala on parallel clearing, amongst them 7 zebra, more impala on sable plains with 3 more zebra, around big and double just the odd impala about and close to hide, a giraffe. Meet Brian and Claire at Geoff’s table for breakfast. On the way out, a troop of baboons, impala and 4 giraffe.
Sunday 10, No drive next week, away in the Park at Biyamiti with Brian & Claire next week. You all take care now.
